Privacy Policy
This page explains the information processed by the NU Signal app and its public support pages, and how you can control it.
Last updated: August 24, 2026
1. Scope
This policy applies to the NU Signal iOS and Android apps and public service and support pages on signal.newunivers.ai. Separate campaign pilot pages may display an additional notice.
You can browse and play public content without creating an account.
2. Information we process
- On-device data: language, preference tags, saved titles, viewing position and history, and data-saver settings. You can remove it by resetting the app or deleting the app.
- Optional sign-in data: Firebase user ID, sign-in provider, and a one-way hash of an email supplied by the provider. NU Signal operational tables use the hash rather than the raw sign-in email.
- Essential service data: catalog, recommendation and playback URL requests, request times, response states and errors. IP address and device or browser information may be processed temporarily by hosting and security layers.
- Production diagnostics: mobile production builds with a configured Sentry DSN send crash stacks, performance information, device model, operating system and app version to Sentry. Diagnostic transmission is disabled when no DSN is configured. Default PII collection, session replay and screenshots are disabled, and user and request fields are removed before transmission. Operational samples are still reviewed to prevent user-entered information from appearing incidentally in error messages or diagnostic context.
- Optional quality analytics runs only after explicit consent in the app or on the public web. The mobile app sends actual viewable recommendation impressions and bounded playback milestones under an anonymous view session. Detailed viewing history and preferences remain on-device, and no advertising identifier or cross-app tracking is sent.
3. Purposes
- Provide discovery, recommendations, search and secure video playback
- Verify optional sign-in and manage NU Signal account state
- Detect and recover from service or security incidents
- Improve mobile recommendations, playback and public web pages when the user has consented
4. Service providers
The following providers may process limited information to deliver the service. NU Signal does not sell personal information and does not operate email marketing delivery.
- Google Firebase: Google sign-in, Apple sign-in integration and authentication
- Apple: Sign in with Apple and iOS platform services
- Expo: app builds and signed app updates
- Sentry: crash and performance diagnostics for mobile production builds; default PII, session replay and screenshots are disabled
- Vercel: web and API hosting and security operations
- Supabase: storage of NU Signal service data
5. Retention and deletion
- On-device data remains until you reset or delete the app.
- NU Signal account data is retained while the account is active. After confirmed deletion, the operational account is anonymized and linked saved, viewing and preference data is processed for deletion.
- Security and incident records are not kept beyond the periods needed under service-provider configuration and applicable law.
- Limited records required for law, security investigations or disputes are isolated and retained only for that purpose and period.
6. Your choices
- Use the service anonymously without signing in.
- Reset on-device data from MY.
- Delete an account and linked data in the app or through this site's account and data deletion guide.
- Withdraw optional quality-analytics consent in the app or public-web privacy settings. Withdrawal stops new transmissions and removes any unsent analytics queue remaining in the app.
7. Security and international processing
Authentication tokens are encrypted in transit and the app uses protected storage. Access controls and least privilege restrict operational-data access.
Provider infrastructure may process information outside your country. In those cases, provider safeguards and applicable law apply.
8. Changes and help
If processing changes, this page and its update date will be revised. Use the web self-help paths on Support for privacy choices, deletion or service issues.
